Project R&M has rightly taken centre stage throughout the year and on Friday afternoon the Club marked an important milestone with the official launch of the new greens on holes 5 and 6 which will be open for play from 10 January.
The occasion was fittingly celebrated with a formal ribbon cutting and a professional exhibition providing Members and guests with an early glimpse of what lies ahead. It was a proud moment for the Club and a clear demonstration of the progress being made under Project R&M.
We were honoured to have Life Member Chris Allen and Past President and Captain Chris Pragnell perform the ribbon cutting duties symbolising the transition from construction to play. Their involvement was a reminder of the strong custodianship that has guided the Club over many years.
Following the ceremony attendees were treated to a fine exhibition of professional golf from Neil Rolfe Jessica Noh Steve Vail and Hamish Murray. One moment in particular will be long remembered when Hamish attacked the 5th in just two shots. After a powerful drive he followed with a crisp 7-iron leaving the ball just short of the green. His chip narrowly lipped out for eagle settling instead for a simple tap-in birdie much to the delight of those watching.
The celebrations continued in the Clubhouse where a strong gathering enjoyed a light dinner of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding before hearing brief reflections from the President Captain Course Superintendent and our Professionals. The evening struck exactly the right note relaxed appreciative and quietly proud of what has been achieved.
This event marked an important chapter in the ongoing renewal of the course and we look forward to welcoming Members onto the new greens very shortly. There is also much anticipation for the next milestone with plans already in place to gather again midway through next year for the launch of Stage 3.
Feel free to watch the video and share in what has been a significant and exciting step forward for Pennant Hills Golf Club.

In a quiet yet meaningful continuation of his long-standing commitment to preserving the Club’s heritage, Bruce Jones has completed a refined and expanded analysis of Members who have won multiple trophies across Pennant Hills’ proud history.
The project began several years ago when Bruce sought to test a belief many of us have shared over the decades, that a familiar group of highly skilled golfers consistently dominated our Honour Boards. With the benefit of the Club’s digitised archives and a painstaking review of results dating back to 1923, he discovered a story far richer and far more nuanced than expected.
According to Bruce’s Explanation of Records of Members Who Have Won Multiple Trophies Since 1923 the proportion of Members who have won multiple individual trophies is far smaller than folklore might suggest, with only 8.6% of Ladies and 5.1% of Men achieving this distinction.
Yet within that narrow band lies a remarkable lineage of champions whose names have shaped the competitive spirit of Pennant Hills for more than a century.
Three New Works for the Club’s Archive
To ensure this history is both preserved and made accessible, Bruce has produced a suite of updated publications:
1. Explanation of Records of Members Who Have Won Multiple Trophies Since 1923 – Click here.
A clear and engaging narrative outlining the method behind the statistics, the misconceptions it challenged and the insights revealed through the data.
2. Men’s “Book of Revelation” – Click here.
A detailed record of all male Members who have won one or more individual trophies since the Club’s foundation. This volume traces achievements ranging from two-trophy winners through to the monumental record of Tony Gresham, whose tally sits in a league of its own.
3. Ladies’ “Book of Revelation” – Click here.
A companion to the men’s edition, this work chronicles the outstanding performances of our female Members, many of whom have etched their names deeply into the Club’s championship history. The record spans from early pioneers such as Mabel Morgan and Jean Smith through to contemporary champions.
4. Book of All Men Ladies and Mixed Multiple TEAM Trophy Winners – Click here.
A combined volume listing every Member who has secured more than one team-based trophy across Men’s Ladies’ and Mixed events. It includes Foursomes results, Knockouts, heritage events such as the Lilian Marks Trophy and the Nagger’s Cup and the long history of family competitions.
A Grateful Acknowledgement
On behalf of the Club we extend sincere thanks to Bruce for the immense time care and historical insight invested in these publications. Preserving our story is as important as shaping our future and contributions such as this ensure that the achievements of generations remain alive in our collective memory.

A wonderful evening was enjoyed at the annual Ladies’ Christmas Dinner and Golf Revue, with 170 enthusiastic ladies in attendance. The festive atmosphere was complemented by excellent food and attentive service, setting the perfect tone for a memorable night of celebration.
A particularly touching moment came as we farewelled Kim and presented her with a gift in appreciation of her many years of dedication and friendship. We wish her every happiness in her well-earned retirement.
Our 2025 Club Champion, Jessica Sherry, delivered a gracious and heartfelt speech that was warmly received by all present. The evening’s entertainment, a lively and humorous revue performed by a group of our own talented Members, kept the room filled with laughter and applause from start to finish.
It was a celebration of the friendships that bind our Women’s golfing community together.
On behalf of the Women’s Committee, heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to such a joyous occasion. We extend our best wishes to everyone for a safe and happy festive season and look forward to another wonderful year of golf and friendship at Pennant Hills.
